When Brooke and Devon asked me to come photograph their engagement session at their country house on the Ontonabee River I was super excited! I love the Kawartha area and was so excited for a new backdrop. They had just moved into their house in the winter of 2017 and it’s adorably sweet and has the perfect view for the sunrise and sunset everyday. These two are getting married in a little less than 2 months and I can’t wait to capture their day!
Brooke & Devon, I hope you guys have been enjoying the planning so far and have been able to find some down time to relax and enjoy being engaged as well. Your day will be here before you know it and it’ll be absolutely beautiful!
I can’t believe Christmas is almost here…. and that means 2018 is just around the corner. It’s been one extrememly busy year - I am mainly looking back from September 2016 and on… I have been VERY behind on blog posts, but for those who follow along you know I’ve had my hands pretty full since May and the whole growing a baby before then kept me quite busy, mainly sleeping, eating, energetic for two hours, then sleeping and eating again… repeat. repeat. repeat. Anyways…. fast forward to now, it’s almost the end of the most amazing year of my life. So many wonderful changes have happened, however… my workaholic self is telling my mom self that I need to sit here and blog and that is what I plan to do.
I’ll be blogging for the next 12 days in celebration of wrapping up my 2017 season, of course I am behind on posts from the 2016 season…so let me kick start 12 days of blogging with a wedding from August 2016 of my lovely bride and groom, Lorena & Matt. Their day was absolutely beautiful, and they picked one of my favourite Durham Region locations for photos in between their ceremony and reception, Parkwood Estates in Oshawa. Gorgeous grounds and even better a gorgeous couple and wedding party. Take a look for yourself and don’t forget to check back here for more beautiful weddings and sessions to come over the next 12 days!
It’s October 1st and you’d think I’d be sharing a post about Fall, but with this warmer Fall temperatures it’s bringing me back to summer. So I wanted to share one of my only engagement sessions this summer at the beautiful Laveanne Lavender Field for one of my lovely 2018 couples.
Stephanie & Anthony were so much fun to work with, the first time meeting with them at their pre-event consultation, Stephanie mentioned she loved the engagement session I did last summer with the lavenders and hoped we could do their photos there as well. I made sure to make this happen, July is the time with the flowers are in full bloom so we made sure to book something as quickly as we could.
I loved how natural these two got infront of the camera, and the way the flowers popped around them. Purple is my favourite colour, so anytime I get to photograph these tones I am one happy photographer!!
Anthony & Stephanie, I hope you guys enjoy the next year of planning but make sure to relax in between as well and celebrate every chance you get, it’s one of the most exciting days of your life and it’ll be here and gone before you know it - so enjoy all the moments, leading up and day of! Can’t wait to work with you two next summer for your special day!
Erin & Craig are always so wonderful to work with, I have had the honour of being their photographer from their engagement to their wedding and now to their next adventure as parents.
We met near the end of July just in time as their little guy arrived shortly after these photos were taken. They kept the gender a surprise, but I had a feeling they were going to be welcoming a boy! Erin was just glowing and the two of them were beaming with excitement their whole session, it was great catching up and sharing pregnancy stories as well throughout our session.
Erin & Craig, I am so happy for you two and I hope you guys are enjoying every single minute of parenting, it really is the best job and gift - he is one lucky little guy to have you two as his parents.
It’s always an honour when my past Bride & Groom’s ask me to photograph their growing family. I love being able to capture a babies first moments with Mom and Dad. It’s the most precious time and I can now fully understand how all my clients feel - it really is the most wonderful gift, having your own little mini.
Baby Zoey even reminded me of how quickly time was flying when I met her, my little girl didn’t seem so little compared to this baby girl and they were only a couple months apart. They change so quickly, so photos are always so important to capture every special moment.
I am truly thankful for the job I have, memories like these mean so much to so many! Especially new parents and new mom’s who if are anything like me cry at almost every new thing their baby does because it’s the greatest thing in the world to watch their baby learn something new but also the saddest because you know they are growing so quickly right before your eyes.
These two parents right here, have the whole world in their hands. I hope you two enjoy every moment of this next chapter, and cherish all the memories, even those sleepless nights ;) I know just from your wedding day, working with you two and listening to the stories from family and friends that she’s got two pretty amazing and fun people as her parents! Baby Zoey is lucky to have you both and you’re going to rock this parent thing.
